Hakko Ishitobi is an undisputed representative calligrapher of Japan. With a fusion of traditional beauty, modern sophistication, strength, and lightness, his one-of-a-kind expression created from a flexible and free spirit is called “Ishitobi Style.” For more than half a century since his debut as a young genius, he has influenced many calligraphers. Ishitobi also focuses on education. His teaching shares the deep spirituality that resides in the act of writing itself, and he has begun his educational activities here in New York City.
