Coinciding with the calligraphy exhibition was the opening of the Artist in Residency (AiR) Exhibition, featuring new works by Daiki Nakamura and Michael & Eva Jacobson. As recipients of the 2025 Artist in Residency Award, these artists completed a one-month creative residency in Brooklyn. Their exhibited works reflect the depth of their engagement with the local community and cultural environment.
In addition, BBFL hosted a special solo exhibition by Marie Roberts, a beloved Coney Island-based artist whose work draws on themes of storytelling, community, and memory. Her inclusion brought an important local dimension to the festival’s global focus.
Together, these exhibitions transformed BBFL into a living canvas of cross-cultural exchange and artistic expression.
