Later in the afternoon, attendees gathered at Brooklyn Beauty/Fashion Labo for the opening of Hakko Ishitobi’s first solo exhibition in New York, presented in collaboration with Taisho University. Titled “Japanese Calligraphy – An Infinite UNIVERSE,” the exhibition runs from April 13 to April 27, and showcases Ishitobi’s signature blend of traditional calligraphy and modern artistic sensibility.
At the opening reception, a live calligraphy performance was held by four esteemed calligraphers who also performed at the opening of the fashion show, captivating the audience with their outstanding skills.
The opening reception featured a sake tasting generously sponsored by Brooklyn Kura, New York’s first sake brewery, adding a local and artisanal touch to the cultural experience.
