Better Communities with Creatives

Creating a better society together with creatives from various industries!!

Brooklyn Beauty/Fashion Labo management a exciting project, “Better Communities with Creatives (BC2)”, aimed at accelerating community development through collaboration with creatives from various industries, such as art, fashion, beauty, and food, along with charitable organizations. By working together, our collaborators will plan and manage exhibitions and events that address social issues. Through these activities, the project will increase opportunities for people to engage with art and performance in daily life, creating spaces to expand creativity. Furthermore, by providing sustainable promotional opportunities for next-generation creators to showcase their talents, the project seeks to revitalize communities and build a sustainable system that guides society in a better direction.

Brooklyn + Japan Festival

The Brooklyn+Japan Festival is held every April and October, centered around a fashion show. The event is organized through collaboration between local communities and four Brooklyn-based brands and four Japanese brands.

Osaka + Brooklyn Festival

The Osaka+Brooklyn Festival is held every November, centered around a fashion show. Outstanding products from the “Better Communities” exhibition will be showcased and sold, featured in the fashion show, and performed by the winners of the Open Mic event. Various creatives involved in BC2 will gather in Osaka to participate and showcase their work in this vibrant event.

ROAD to JAPAN 2025

This is a competition event that gives Brooklyn-based artists the opportunity to work in Japan.
The successful artists will have the opportunity to perform or exhibit their work in Japan.

A competition event co-hosted by the non-profit organizations BKStyle and J-Collabo, held as part of Fashion Week Brooklyn. It provided an open platform for all mic-using performers—including musicians, dancers, and spoken word artists—to showcase their talent in front of a live audience.

The winner received the opportunity to perform in Tokyo in November 2025 and studio usage rights.

These Open Mic events were held monthly from March to September, with 30 artists participating.

This project aims to build a platform connecting Brooklyn, Japan, and the world, and to promote community development through collaboration with diverse artists.

NY residents who pass the screening have their works exhibited and sold at Brooklyn Beauty/Fashion Labo, and also be featured in a online gallery for one year.

Various Community Events and Activitie

We host various events and activities that accelerate community development. It connects creators from various industries with local charities and address social issues. Various events and activities can expand community connections and the creativity of creatives. Through collaborative events with various communities and festivals linking Brooklyn and Japan, we aim to create a better society.

BBFL x NYPD (New York Police Department)

Under the theme of “Unity,” the NYPD Youth Strategy Division collaborated with artists to hold an art workshop in which local children created heart-shaped sculptures symbolizing community connections. The completed works were exhibited as symbols embodying the message, “Unity is more than a concept—it’s about building bridges, creating connections, and fostering spaces where every voice is valued.”

BBFL x IBFA (International Beauty Fashion Association)

International Beauty Fashion Association (IBFA) is a non-profit organization that supports emerging talent in the beauty and fashion fields. BBFL co-hosted an event for makeup artists with IBFA. The organization also holds various workshops and presents awards to those active in the beauty and fashion fields.

BBFL x Referee Atelier  

Referee Atelier is an organization supporting refugee women and children, developing workshops aimed at teaching basic skills in the beauty and fashion fields. In workshops co-hosted with BBFL, programs included making stuffed animals through knitting and other techniques for sale.
